ICEEP /11th International Conference on Equine Exercise Physiology: Sleip founder Elin Hernlund on Biomechanics and lameness

ICEEP is an international conference that brings together the world's best researchers and experts in equine exercise physiology and sports medicine. One of the hosts of the event was our own Elin Hernlund, DVM/Phd and one of the founders of Sleip. The event also saw the first presentation of Elin’s and her team of researchers validation study: Changes in pelvic axial rotation following diagnostic analgesia in hindlimb lame horses.

“We found that the rotation of the horse's pelvis (seen from behind) has a fingerprint pattern for different individuals. In fact they display variations to a given theme of movement. This pattern changes when the horse suffers from lameness. More and more we understand the importance of following the motion pattern of the individual horse over time”, says Elin.
