Sleip renews sponsorship for EGAS Live Course in 2026
Sleip will continue its sponsorship of the EGAS Live Course 2026 — marking our 4 year supporting advanced post-graduate education in quantitative gait analysis for equine veterinarians.
We’re excited to support objective gait analysis courses developed and taught by leading equine biomechanics experts Marie Rhodin and Emma Persson-Sjödin again. After strong interest last year, they are relaunching the program for 2026 — this time with two focused courses, one online and one on-site, open to both veterinarians and equine professionals.
These two-day courses provide practical knowledge, hands-on tools, and scientific insights to help you confidently integrate gait analysis into your daily work. Participants also receive a 10% discount with the promo code Sleip10.
A professor at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Marie brings over two decades of experience in equine biomechanics and orthopedics. Her research spans gait analysis, lameness detection, and horse-rider interaction, with more than 80 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
Emma specializes in equine biomechanics and orthopaedic diagnostics. Her PhD focused on interpreting movement asymmetries and improving diagnostic accuracy using objective systems. She divides her time between research, clinical work at the University Equine Clinic, and lecturing in equine anatomy.
Dates: 27–28 February 2026
Format: Online (English)
Price: 5000 SEK / 450€
This course covers practical and clinical applications of objective gait analysis, including:
Output from different systems (focus on Sleip)
How to collect quality data
Measurements and interpretation of longeing / flexion tests / PPE
Compensatory lameness patterns
Measuring the ridden horse
Lameness in Icelandic horses and Trotters
The course contains:
6 hours of lectures explaining the theory behind and interpretation of objective gait analysis data
2.5 hours of theoretical case studies and discussion

SLU, Sleip, and a number of private equine clinics have collaborated on a study showing how anatomical size-scaling helps align objective gait data with visual lameness assessments
This summer we conducted a survey about equine lameness for more than 100 equine veterinarians from the ISELP community.
