Our story
Lameness is one of the most common — and complex — issues affecting horses. It often begins with subtle changes in movement that are easy to overlook. At Sleip, we set out to help catch those early signs and bring more clarity to every step.
We strengthen equine welfare worldwide through pioneering technology.
Combining decades of equine biomechanics research with cutting-edge AI, Sleip brings objective motion analysis to a device you already carry: your smartphone. Our technology helps vets and care teams detect even subtle signs of lameness early, track progress over time, and collaborate more easily around each horse.

We’re horse nerds and tech geeks — passionate about both welfare and innovation. Founded by equine vet and researcher Elin Hernlund and AI engineer Axel Nyström, Sleip brings together veterinary science and pioneering technology to make motion analysis accessible, practical, and precise.

Sleip is named after Sleipnir, the eight-legged horse of the Norse god Odin — fast, powerful, and able to move between worlds. It’s pronounced | sleɪp | and rhymes with shape.
